Tutto è partito dalla volontà di finire una parete grezza in cemento armato davanti alla quale si passa tutti i giorni per uscire di casa… lo scivolo di un garage, ma non solo.

Il graffito è una tecnica antica che prevede la sovrapposizione di più strati di intonaco di diverso colore e grassello di calce che vengono “graffiati” per fare risaltare luci e ombre del disegno.

Con uno sviluppo di ben 11 metri lineari, l’opera andava realizzata a “giornate”… abilità delle maestranze coinvolte è quella di rendere quasi invisibili le giunzioni, seguendo i contorni naturali del disegno all’inizio e al completamento di ogni fase di lavoro.

L’argomento scelto per questa parete è di tipo paesaggistico… un poco fantasioso e un poco reale: dal nulla compare questo vialetto alberato che dona una vista aerea sull’antico paesino (libera interpretazione storica) e sulle montagne retrostanti.

Le chiome degli alberi richiamano le ciocche dei capelli poiché di fronte a questa parete esercita il suo mestiere di parrucchiera la committente.  Per non creare torti a nessuno ho voluto inserire, ben mascherato tra gli elementi del paesaggio, anche un simbolo per la passione del committente! THE GRAFFITO RAMP

Everything started from the wish to finish the rough concrete wall before which one passes every day on leaving home: the garage ramp. But not only that.

The graffito is an ancient technique that involves the superposition of several plaster layers having different colours, finally covered with slaked lime, which are then scraped (in Italian: “graffiati”) to bring out lights and shadows.

With a length of over 11 linear meters, the handiwork was to be realised in full days. The skill of the workforce was to make junctions almost invisible by using the drawing natural contours as the beginning and closing of each single working step.

The subject chosen for this wall is a landscape… somehow fancy yet somehow realistic: a tree-lined alleyway appears out of nowhere and gives an aerial view over the ancient village (a free historical interpretation) as well as the background mountains.

The foliage of the tree recalls hair strands because, in a shop opposite this wall, the client’s wife performs her profession of hairdresser.

In order not to wrong anyone, I have carefully hidden the client’s own passion among the landscape elements. Can you spot it?
